Easy Apple Pie Bars
Sweet vanilla cake is topped with pre-made apple pie filling, then the remaining vanilla batter is added on top to create Easy Apple Pie Bars, which have all the flavors of a traditional apple pie without all the work. - 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Apple pie filling in a 21-ounce can (use two if you prefer more apple filling)
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powder sugar
- 1 12 tbsp milk (or water) (approximately; add milk or water until you reach a drizzle-able consistency Start with 1 1/2 tbsp).
Instruction:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×13 baking pan by spraying oil or non-stick cooking spray on the bottom.
- Use a hand mixer to combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a sizable mixing bowl. Adding and incorporating the eggs one at a time
- Sift the flour and baking powder into the butter/sugar mixture. Mix until the flour is completely incorporated.
- Make sure the batter is distributed evenly in the prepared 9×13 baking dish by pouring 2/3 of it in. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the batter before adding the apple pie filling. Dot the top of the apples with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and the top and edges are golden. A glass baking dish requires 30-35 minutes of cooking time. Make the powder sugar glaze by combining the powder sugar with the milk (or water) while the cake is baking.
- Right before serving drizzle with powder sugar glaze. Serve warm with a little vanilla ice cream. For up to three days, keep in an airtight container at room temperature.

Instruction:
- Set the oven to 350 degrees and use cooking spray to coat a 9″ x 13″ pan with parchment paper. Butter and sugars should be combined in a sizable bowl and beat with a hand mixer until fluffy and light. Add flour and salt and mix until just combined.
- Press into prepared pan about 1/2” up sides. Bake until lightly golden, 20 minutes.
- For about an hour, bake the apples with the crumb topping until the apples are soft and the top is golden.
