One of our most popular flavored ghees, chocolate, is a decadent dessert ghee. We use local honey to add just the right amount of sweetness to small-batch blends of ghee and cacao. Together, these ingredients provide more antioxidants, vitamins and minerals than any of these ingredients do on their own. And it’s delicious with fruit, on toast, or blended into drinks!

This sweet seasonal flavored ghee is crafted in small batches with New England maple cream. Maple cream adds zinc, magnesium, and even more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to ghee. Try it on pancakes or toast or blended with coffee or golden milk.
Melt ghee in a small saucepan. Add cumin seeds and fry on medium heat for one minute, or until the fragrance of the seeds fills the air. Rinse rice and add to the saucepan, stirring constantly for 2-4 minutes to evenly coat the rice with ghee. Stir in water and bring to a boil, then turn heat to low and simmer 20 minutes. Serve hot and add an extra dollop of ghee. Jeera rice can be enjoyed with Indian curries and dahls.

Rosemary has a complex flavor — it is a combination of piney and slightly minty, with peppery, sage-like notes. Rosemary has a sharp, brightening quality to it. The flavor can be overwhelming if used too much in culinary dishes. The Rosemary Garlic Ghee from Full Moon Ghee has been blended to perfection, allowing for just the right amount of flavor to come through. The garlic adds a touch of pungency and spiciness that helps to balance this savory ghee option.
Not only is the Chocolate Ghee a tasty treat, it’s also filled with vitamins, minerals, and iron. It’s a great way to add some sweet tastes and clean energy to your day while doing it healthfully. Get your jar of Chocolate Ghee now! (Temporarily out of stock until mid-March)
Full Moon Ghee has a buttery, slightly sweet flavor. It is a great substitute for butter in most dishes, and an easy-to-use oil with a smoke point of 485°F — which is higher than many other popular cooking oils, like extra virgin olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, and palm oil.
For those who have never experienced it, it is common to ask: “What does ghee taste like?” Those who ask are often looking for an alternative to using butter or canola oil for health reasons. Others may have children who do not like the taste of coconut oil used in cooking, or some have had too many experiences of burning the extra virgin olive oil while preparing a meal.

Does ghee taste like butter?
No, ghee does not taste like butter; it is lighter on the palate. A jar of well-made ghee has a defined nuttiness that comes from the caramelization of the milk solids. You should also be able to rub it between your fingers to test for tiny granules. The adulation is evident in chef Shriya Shetty’s voice.
What are benefits of ghee and butter for eyes?
Both are rich in fatty acids such as linolenic, butter ghee is also a source of several vitamins, such as A, D, E and K. It also offers antioxidants for the health of the body. This combination of nutrients helps prevent macular degeneration and cataract development. The only difference is that regular butter has lactose, and ghee does not.
Is ghee good for cooking?
Unlike regular butter, ghee is free of milk solids and water, which not only contributes to its stability at high temperatures but also offers a longer shelf life. Incorporating ghee into your cooking is simple. Start by using it as a base for sautéing spices or vegetables, lending a depth of flavor to dishes like curries, soups, and stews.
Does ghee smoke?
Since ghee is pure fat and doesn’t contain any milk solids, it doesn’t start to smoke until it becomes much hotter. The Vegetarian Health Institute lists ghee as one of the highest smoke points at 485 F (15 F higher than canola oil, the fat with the next highest smoke point).
