I love bright, citrusy cocktails, especially with grapefruit – sweet, sour, and bitter all at the same time. However, sometimes to get all the grapefruit flavor you want from juice, it’s just too acidic. That’s where Grapefruit Bitters come in, tons of grapefruit flavor but without the acid. A few dashes will brighten up any cocktail like a squeeze of juice will, but you don’t have to worry about having a grapefruit on hand or adding too much acidity to your drink.

We’ve highlighted the floral notes of grapefruit with the addition of hops and then balanced that out with earthy ginger, and rich honey. Grapefruit Bitters are our only bitters sweetened with honey.

Goes great with gin, vodka, and tequila as well as wine spritzers, champagne cocktails, and floral aperitifs like Lillet, St. Germain, or classic dry vermouth.

Ingredients: Alcohol, water, honey, grapefruit peel, fresh ginger, coriander, cardamom, gentian, hops. Share Link

FAQ

What do you do with bitters in drinks?

“They add depth [to a cocktail] and can tie different liquors and liqueurs together really nicely.” If you’re ever sipping a drink and think it could use a boost, cocktail bitters can add that missing element. Bitters are a classic garnish, particularly for Amaretto Sours and other foam-topped egg white cocktails.

What does orange bitters do to a drink?

It also adds a depth of flavour to rum cocktails. Its complexity and layers of flavour also make it a culinary must-have ingredient. A perfect accompaniment to savoury sauces, seafood and chocolate.

What tastes good with grapefruit juice?

Its bracing tartness might make you think of tangy tequila or vodka coolers, but grapefruit also works nicely in richer cocktails made with bourbon, aged rum, or rye whiskey.
