I bought both the andouille and breakfast links at the Kalispell, Montana Costco and they’re located in the refrigerated deli section at Costco. The item number for the andouille sausage is 1451835 and the breakfast links item number is 1380296.

The first thing I wanted to know about this sausage is how spicy it is. The package says it’s spicy, but that word can be a little bit subjective. So what’s the verdict? Well, they’re not going to light your mouth on fire, but they’re definitely hot. People who dislike spicy foods will want to avoid them. I found the spiciness really enjoyable though.
I grilled my sausages for about six minutes on medium heat and they came out very nicely. They’re slightly greasy, but not too bad for sausage. Taste wise the main thing I noticed was the spice, but there’s a nice mild smokiness to them too.
They’re very tasty. You get the odd bite of something hard or gristly, but those little bits are small enough that they don’t ruin the experience.
I tried my sausages plain, but I think they’d be great in the jambalaya we make!

I pan-fried my sausages, first steaming them in a tiny bit of water and then adding a tiny bit of olive oil to brown them. It worked pretty well, though I probably could have done without the olive oil.
The first thing I noticed was that sausages have a very strong herb flavor. I think it’s mainly from the rosemary. It’s not bad, but I would have preferred less herb flavor. It’s not what I’m used to in a breakfast sausage. The quality of the meat was good, with no gross/gristly bits.
I served my sausages with an egg and they went well together. The egg helped lessen the herby flavors a bit.
