Our Farmhouse Sandwich Bread has become the bread of choice with our customers. We sell more of this bread than any other. And for good reason: its incredible! It has an open, tender crumb and airy texture that belies the fact that it is made with mostly whole grains. The natural leavening emphasizes the inherent flavor of each grain and gives it a subtle, overall tang that makes garlic butter or even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich sing.
The dough rises for a second time prior to baking to make a fluffy, flavorful loaf.

Spray with nonstick spray, cover with plastic wrap. Place in a warm area for 60 minutes, or until bread has risen until double.
Egg wash: 1 egg + 1 tsp water (to brush on risen loaves of dough prior to baking)
Brush on loaf. The yolk gives great color and the white makes the final product shine. Lovely!
