New Year, new juice? I think yes! For a while, I let my love for smoothies come between me and my juicing but not anymore! I’m back to juicing and I’m lovin’ it! This Sweet Celery Juice is exactly what I needed to get me back in the groove!
Last year, it seemed like everyone was going crazy over celery juice. I mean, it was everyyyywhereeeee. All that buzz about celery juice got me curious, so I looked up the benefits of celery juice and to my surprise there were quite a few.
For example, celery juice is an anti-inflammatory. So if you’ve got any type of joint pain or arthritis, you may find relief from drinking celery juice. In addition, it’s loaded with essential minerals and vitamins that are known to aid in beautiful skin (vitamin B6, vitamin K, and C).
Considering an alkaline diet? This Sweet Celery juice is perfect for you! The ingredients (celery, ginger, lemons and apples) are all alkaline friendly.
If you google “celery juice,” you’re bound to find a few videos of people making, drinking, and sharing their thoughts on the taste. More times than not, people will say it doesn’t taste all that great.
I barely like to eat plain celery as it is, so I knew that if I was going to make a celery juice I would actually want to drink, I’d have to include a few additions to give it a flavor I’d actually enjoy.
Fruits: Celery can be paired with fruits such as apples, pears, and raisins. Dressings: Celery can be paired with dressings such as ranch, blue cheese, and vinaigrette. Mayo and Yogurt: Celery can be paired with mayo or yogurt based dressings for a creamy and tangy salad.
Making this Sweet Celery Juice
To add a sweetness to this Sweet Celery Juice, I decided to add in some apples, ginger, and Meyer lemons. Apples are a staple in most any juice I make. They’re so versatile and provide the perfect amount of sweetness you need.
Ginger is also one of my favorite juice additions because it adds a nice “kick” to the juice. Not to mention, it also contains anti-inflammatory properties and aids in indigestion.
For this Sweet Celery Juice recipe, I also used Meyer lemons. Meyer lemons are seasonal, so they’re not available year-round. You can usually find them in stores between the months of December and May.
Wondering what the difference is between these and regular lemons? Meyer lemons are moderately acidic and are much sweeter, which is another reason I thought they’d be a perfect addition to this juice.
If you’re looking for a juicer, be sure to check out this one I found on Amazon! It’s made by Oster and it’s been holding me down for the last two+ years! Me and my husband love it because it’s easy to use and most importantly it’s easy to CLEAN!
I simply rinse it out after using it (before all the fruit and veggie bits dry up) and toss it in the dishwasher or clean it by hand.
