What is pulp riot & how does it work?
What is Pulp Riot? Pulp Riot is a conditioner-based direct dye that is applied directly to the hair without using any developer. This means it is a semi-permanent color as it simply coats the outside of the hair and does not lift the cuticle layer, therefore not altering its chemistry.
Are pulp riot colours permanent?
All Pulp Riot colours have a unique conditioner-based consistency, making them a true semi-permanent formula. This means that the product will sit on the cuticle of the hair – enabling them not only to be completely removable (we will come on to the magic behind the removal shortly!) but also never leaving any unwanted staining on the hair.
Do you need to lighten hair before pulp riot?
However, depending on your hair color and the level of vibrancy you’re hoping to achieve, your Hair Cuttery Stylist may need to lighten the hair before applying Pulp Riot, which will allow for brighter colors and enhance the longevity of your color. Pulp Riot will gradually fade through 20-40 washes and will lighten evenly.
