What kind of stovetop is my cookware compatible with?

All SCANPAN cookware is compatible with gas and electric stovetops. For induction stoves, check out Pro IQ, HaptIQ, CS+, and Classic Induction.

What’s the difference between all the lines? I’m so confused!

SCANPAN cookware comes in many different design configurations, but they have more in common than you might think. There are two basic body constructions – squeeze cast aluminum (Classic, Classic Induction, Professional, Pro IQ, ES5 and TechnIQ) and 5-ply stainless steel-clad with an aluminum core (CTX, CS+, HaptIQ).

There are also only two nonstick surface options, but they’re variations on one another: STRATANIUM is our flagship surface (found on Classic, Classic Induction, Professional, Pro IQ, and CTX) and STRATANIUM+ is our commercial-grade surface that is textured for optimal searing (found on HaptIQ, CS+ and TechnIQ). Beyond that, our lines are all far more similar than they are different. Here’s what they all have in common:

  • Made from recycled aluminum
  • Lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects
  • Oven safe to 500 degress, including lids and handles
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Metal tool safe
  • Hand crafted in Denmark

FAQ

Do Scanpans wear out?

If your pan has pits, holes, or peeling, you should stop using it and contact us for a warranty replacement. If your pan has burned, carbonized build up from food and oil residues, we recommend replacing your pan. To avoid this buildup in the future, always make sure to clean your pan thoroughly after each use.

Why is food sticking to my SCANPAN?

In almost all cases, sticking is due to stubborn food and oil residue. Try cleaning them with a baking soda solution. First, pour water into the pan to cover the base of the pan up to about an inch high – put one tablespoon of baking soda per 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes.

Is SCANPAN high quality?

Performance. Scanpan’s cookware is known for its excellent nonstick performance and it is designed to be easy to use and maintain. It is also able to withstand high cooking temperatures of over 500°F in the oven, making it suitable for a wide range of cooking techniques like frying eggs, pancakes, and searing steaks.

How often should you replace your pans?

For a home cook, a decent set of cookware should last between five and ten years, depending on the frequency of cooking. “The best type of material to use in general is stainless steel, with the exception of using non-stick for omelets,” explains Scott Clarke, a chef and owner of Blue Monkey Catering.
