does easy bake oven have gluten free options

Quick show of hands…how many of you like baking? Guessing a good number of you raised your hands! However, I am sure there are many of you though, like me, that would never raise your hand for that question. Baking is a lot of work after all. You need time, lots of ingredients, money for all of those ingredients (which you will maybe only use once) and lots of patience. Let’s not even talk about the mess and all the clean up afterwards. Well, fellow non-bakers (and bakers too!) I have the solution to all of your baking woes. Scratch & Grain.

I saw this company featured on Shark Tank a while back and remember thinking how cool of a concept they had. Something that might actually make me want to bake. Because, let’s be honest, even though you can buy everything so easily these days, baked goods really do taste better when you make them yourself. So, when they sent me all of the tasty treat kits you see above, I was so excited. Right away, I could tell it was something I could handle. Truly “easy baking” at it’s best! You pretty much just need an oven (and maybe some eggs). And what got me even more excited, they have many gluten free options. Since having to go gluten free several years ago, I have learned that baking without wheat is even more of a headache, and so expensive. To have everything you need in one kit, it’s AMAZING!

With so many options, where to begin? I decided to make the gluten free cheesecake brownies first. All I needed, in addition to the kit, was a couple of eggs, butter and cream cheese. I can report back that this kit is foolproof! I followed the nicely laid out steps on the back of the box, used only two bowls (very light cleanup) and had amazing cheesecake brownies in my mouth within an hour. Everything in the kit is labeled by number, making it so simple to follow the steps. No measuring, and no wasting of ingredients. And to quote a few of my girlfriends, “they don’t taste like they are gluten free at all.”

Before using this kit, if something had a marble design I would have walked right past in the grocery store. Not something that I thought would be in my wheelhouse. Well, Scratch & Grain has taught me a new skill. The directions made it so simple, and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Fellow foodies, these brownies tasted just as good as they looked. I was in shock at how easy it was to get such a tasty treat, so easily and quickly, that I made. And you don’t have t break the bank to make them. Definitely the adult edition of easy bake oven! I am very excited to try out the rest of my kits, and I know my tummy is too.

Just remove the mixes that are included with the oven and order some Gluten-Free Essentials Speedy Bakes, there are 6 different mixes to choose from. The Easy Bake oven directions are on the back of the package as well as on the website: click here. WOO HOO!

BAKING GLUTEN FREE COOKIES IN AN EASY BAKE OVEN!

FAQ

Why did they discontinue Easy Bake Ovens?

On July 19, 2007, Hasbro re-issued its voluntary recall of the Easy-Bake after learning that part of a five-year-old girl’s finger had to be amputated because of a severe burn. The recall affected 985,000 ovens that had been sold between May 2006 and July 2007.

Can celiacs use the same oven?

Avoid cooking gluten-containing foods and gluten-free foods together in the oven – do it separately. Make sure to clean any surface your food will touch before using the oven. Place food on a clean pan or use foil. Make sure the wire shelves are free of crumbs if cooking directly on the rack.

How many Easy Bake Ovens were recalled?

WASHINGTON, July 19 (Reuters) – Hasbro Inc. will recall about 1 million Easy-Bake Ovens because children could get their hands caught in the front opening and suffer burns, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday.

What are gluten-free baking recipes?

Our gluten-free baking recipes showcase the huge array of bakes you can make without a speck of wheat flour or other gluten—from chewy sandwich bread to lofty cakes, tender cookies to tasty pies. We include classics like chocolate chip cookies, as well as fresh recipes that will become family favorites.

Can you use gluten-free flour in baking?

You might be tempted to improvise on a recipe and use your tried-and-true baking know-how but, until you’re comfortable with the particulars of gluten-free baking, use recipes designed for gluten-free flour and follow them as outlined.

Should you freeze gluten-free baked goods?

The freezer is your friend. Homemade gluten-free baked goods are often tastier than what you can find at the store, but it takes a bit of effort to fire up the oven every time the mood strikes. Whenever I bake a batch of something, I make it a habit to freeze a portion for a future indulgence.

Which baked goods are gluten-free?

I find that the easiest and most passable gluten-free baked goods are those that don’t rely solely on flour for their composition, but have other major ingredients mixed in. Think: banana bread, cornbread, peanut butter cookies, oat muffins, carrot cake. Those all get structure, flavor, and texture, from those other featured ingredients.
