Introduction: How to Make a Calzone
Ive yet to meet a single person on Earth who doesnt like calzones; theyre simply delicious, and theres no proof otherwise. The first calzone Id ever had was the Pizones from Pizza Hut (or was it Dominos…?), and I was hooked instantly. Theyre like pizzas squared. That may sound hard to believe, but its true 😉 So, I set out to find out how to make my own yummy calzones… After a bit of RND in the kitchen, I came up with a pretty good idea of how to make a calzone. However, I wont be giving you a recipe; in all honesty, I make a different calzone every time! But, I do follow the same steps, the same technique, and that is what Ill be sharing with you.
Step 1: Ingredients & Utensils
- Pizza Dough – I made mine from a store-bought mix. Use whatever kind of dough you like, but you have to use dough, not crust.
- Toppings – I used cheese, pepperoni, tomato sauce, garlic salt and oregano, but you can use just about anything
- Olive Oil Spray – like Pam or Crisco
- Cookie sheet – with raised edges so you dont make a mess
- Cutting Board – for cutting your calzone so the cookie sheet doesnt rust
- Pizza cutter
- Spatula
- Pot holders
