It’s perfect for gifts when you divide the hot chocolate mix into mason jars. Add the lid and a decorative bow with instructions to share. Or if you’re like my family you store it for months in air tight containers so that all the work of making homemade hot chocolate is done once a season.
Made with dry milk, Nesquik cocoa powder, powdered creamer and powdered sugar this recipe could not be easier to make – since you grab it all and mix it all. Done! The hardest part is finding a big enough bowl to mix it all in.
I don’t recommend using another brand of chocolate milk powder but I do use generic in everything else. That Nesquik is also good to get because it comes in a standard size that the recipe calls for. Keep in mind this recipe is over forty years old just with us.
How to Make Hot Chocolate Mix
Combine the powdered sugar and dry milk in a large mixing bowl. I used a stock pot but the best way to mix this is in a cake lid turned upside down.
Add powdered creamer and mix. And then finally add the Nesquik powder chocolate flavor.
Stir until fully combined and store in an airtight container.
