Chocolate Peppermint Birds’ Nests Recipe

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate melts (Merckens brand is my favorite)
  • 8 ounces unsalted, dry roasted peanuts
  • a handful of raw, unsalted almonds
  • a handful of lightly salted pretzel rods
  • crushed candy cane for topping

I ran out of PB filled pretzels making my white chocolate snack mix but by all means, hunt some down and add them to the mix too! I’ve already added them to my grocery list. Possibly for the next 5 lists. Just sayin.

Add everything but the candy cane into your slow cooker and set the slow cooker’s heat to low.

Pop in a movie, fix yourself dinner or go for a run, and in an hour or so you’ll have a melty crockpot full of candy.

Stir to incorporate and add spoonfuls onto parchment paper to cool + harden.

Sprinkle crushed candy cane on top and leave them out for santa with a glass of milk or gift them to your friends!
