Cooking in the kitchen isn’t always the tidiest of tasks. One of the messiest places in the kitchen is definitely the cooktop or stovetop. But dont worry, Bar Keepers Friend is perfect for cleaning up those spill-overs, mess-up and drips on cooktops.
For most cooktops we recommend the Cooktop Cleaner as it is specifically formulated for use on induction cooktops, cookware and other glass or ceramic surfaces.
Important: Always test in a small area first and follow instructions on bottle. Bar Keepers Friend is not recommended on cast iron cooktops or any other porous surfaces.
Safety Tip: Cooktops will stay hot long after cooking – always make sure the glass or stovetop is cool to the touch prior to cleaning.
Note: You can also use the Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser in place of the Cooktop Cleaner. They have the same active ingredient, main difference is the added food-based degreasers in the Cooktop Cleaner.
Step 2: Apply the Cooktop Cleaner onto the pad or sponge or directly to the surface.
Note: You can also use the Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser in place of the Cookware Cleanser. They have the same active ingredient, main difference is the added food-based degreasers in the Cookware Cleanser.
Instructions:Step 1 (Gas only): Remove the burner covers and range knobs and bring to sink or area where they can be cleaned. The grates above are generally cast iron and is not recommended for use with BKF (use general dishwashing liquid).
Step 2 (Gas only): Create a paste with the powder and water. Apply to the burner covers and range knobs. Leave paste on for up to a minute.

Still not cutting it?
For super-crazy tough stains, you may want to leave on for two minutes and use our Multi-Purpose Cooktop Scraper to get under those dried on stains. Depending on the age and condition of the surface it may take a couple of applications as some cooktops/stovetops have a lot of build-up! Also the sponge or pad used can make a huge difference.
