Food Sticking to Stainless Steel Pans? 4 Common Mistakes to Avoid

FAQ

What should you not do with All-Clad?

Do not use oven cleaners, steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents or detergents containing bleach or peroxide, which can damage the pan. Nylon scrubbing pads can be used on stainless steel surfaces only. Never place a hot pan under cold water, as it could cause warping.

Are stainless steel pans broiler safe?

Traditionally, stainless steel is oven- and broiler-safe to a maximum of 600°F, and can often go under the broiler. (But read the fine print on your brand: Nonstick stainless steel, for example, will often be oven-safe only to 400°F or 500°F, and can’t go under the broiler.)

Is there a class action lawsuit against all clad cookware?

Recently, we learned that All-Clad Metalcrafters, the manufacturer of some of our favorite pieces of cookware, has reached a settlement in a class action lawsuit against it.

Do professional chefs use all clad cookware?

That is pretty much the only reason for nonstick in a professional kitchen. The most prolific brand for chefs or advanced amateurs is All-Clad and their different sub-brands of quality cookware.

Can you use all-clad cookware under a broiler?

As well as this, all of All-Clad’s stainless steel cookware range is safe to use under the broiler, again, for a maximum temperature of 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The glass lids cannot be used under the broiler, either. However, All-Clad’s non-stick cookware differs slightly from the Stainless Steel range in that it can withstand lower temperatures.

Can you use stainless steel cookware under a broiler?

This is 315 degrees Celsius if you are that way inclined. As well as this, all of All-Clad’s stainless steel cookware range is safe to use under the broiler, again, for a maximum temperature of 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The glass lids cannot be used under the broiler, either.

Are all-clad pans oven safe?

The non-stick cookware user manual says, “Pots and pans are oven safe up to 500°F. Lids are oven safe up to 350°F. Avoid use under the broiler.” These instructions are not totally consistent with what the All-Clad customer service representative told me.

Can a non-stick cookware range be used under a broiler?

Unlike the stainless steel range, All-Clad’s non-stick cookware range cannot be used under the broiler. It is not designed for broiler usage. Just like the stainless steel range, any glass lids from the non-stick cookware are not oven safe, so do bear this in mind!
