With just a few years in the cellar, the 2017 Bure Family Ritchie is now even more ultra-rich and opulent, yet gloriously refreshing with dazzling bright fruit! This is California boutique Chardonnay at its best! As of this writing, the flawless finish is still fairly restrained, with notes of fresh peaches, vanilla, minerals, lemon oil, and honeysuckle entwined with flamboyant notes of butterscotch and Hawaiian macadamia nuts. The end product is a powerful blend that combines the full-throttle Russian River fruit that California collectors will love with the age-ability of a notable “grand cru” Burgundy. Aging potential for 5-7 years, with our estimate of a peak around 2025 Currently at 98 points, and likely to reach 99 in the coming years – February 2021.

The Bure white wines age very well. The 2013 Nuite Blanche is a testament to this (we tasted this wine 9 years post vintage). It is medium golden in color; the aromatics are engaging and include pineapple, honeycomb, caramel, lemon zest and a hint of hazelnut. The palate is about its depth of flavor, richness and texture.
