Good news, bad news: Yes, Alto is discontinued, but according to Nespresso, the 7.7 oz. pods have the same amount of coffee as the Alto pods; and, you can reprogram your Vertuo to fill your cup to the level you’d like using any 7.7 oz. pod. I tried this on my first generation Vertuo machine.
Are Dolce XL & Intenso XL leaving Nespresso?
Just got an email from Nespresso that Dolce XL and Intenso XL are leaving (alongside Giornio and Elvazio). It’s nice to have a 14oz coffee, especially in the to-go cup. Hoping something new replaces them. Has anyone got the inside track? I won’t be happy if they take away the 14oz. That’s one of the main reasons I went to Vertuo.
Which is better Nespresso or alto Intenso?
If you prefer the stronger profile of Alto Intenso, try Stormio or Intenso. Thank you for your feedback and keep an eye out for updates in the future. Nespresso the flavors aren’t the issue, it’s the removal of the Alto size.
Are the next coffee pods compatible with the Alto pods?
They still advertise it being compatible with the alto pods although they are discontinued. That seems wrong. Consuming 2 coffee pods every time just made my morning mug so much more expensive. Ugh, most disappointing. I had this problem too. I bought the Next at the beginning of the month just as they discontinued the pods.
