Set inside a 19th century citrus packing house on the grounds of the storied San Ysidro Ranch, the Stonehouse Restaurant, recently named the #1 Restaurant in Santa Barbara by OpenTable exudes the rustic romance of its historic setting. Whether dining indoors by a wood-burning fireplace, outside on an ocean view terrace framed by twinkling lights, or in one of the restaurant’s magical private dining areas, guests enjoy imaginative regional cuisine accented by fresh-picked herbs and produce from the chef’s organic garden.
Savor contemporary American cuisine that is artfully prepared using fresh, local ingredients that highlight the seasonal bounty of Santa Barbara and California’s Central Coast.
Wine Spectator Grand Award
Since 2014, the Stonehouse Restaurant has been the proud recipient of Wine Spectator’s highest honor, the Grand Award. This prestigious distinction, bestowed on only 97 restaurants worldwide, recognizes “extraordinary commitment to wine service.”
Tucked beneath the Stonehouse, our temperature-controlled cellar holds an impressive collection of 14,000 bottles, with 2,000 varietals spanning 70 renowned wine regions across the world. The crown jewel of the collection is a rare, 120-bottle complete vertical of Pomerol’s Château Pétrus with vintages dating back to the famed 1945 production through its latest in 2017. Tours of the cellar may be accommodated before or after a dinner reservation, and are best enjoyed with a glass of wine. Enjoy an exclusive wine tasting experience, with a curated menu by Executive Chef Matthew Johnson and world-class wines hand-selected by Sommelier Tristan Pitre at our newest private dining venue – The Secret Cellar.
The 120-bottle addition of Château Pétrus not only completes the remarkable, yet painstaking reconstruction of the Stonehouse’s renowned wine cellar following the 2018 mudslides, it also represents the most extensive restaurant offering of Pétrus in the United States. The 70 vintage vertical includes every bottle produced by the renowned Bordeaux estate, from the famed 1945 vintage through the celebrated 1947, 1959, 1961, 1964, 1982, 1990 and 2000 vintages to present.
